Season 1, Episode 25: The Greatest TV Comedy of the 2010s (Part One)

Here it is folks. For our season finale, we’re hunting down the answer to the biggest question that has plagued humanity for over a year now: What was the best TV comedy of the 2010s?

To decide upon the candidates we looked high and low, seeking out the shows that made us laugh the hardest. We took those and from them we each selected eight of what we considered to be the best. Then we each took our eight shows and we bracketed them off into a tournament-style breakdown.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005-Present)

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia was created by Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day and starring them alongside Kaitlin Olson and Danny Devito. It’s about a group of narcissistic idiots who run a bar in Philadelphia.

Parks and Recreation (2009-2015)

Parks and Recreation was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur and stars Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Paul Schneider, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Aubrey Plaza, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir, Retta, and Billy Eichner. It’s about a group of mid-level bureaucrats in the Parks Department of Pawnee, Indiana.

The Eric Andre Show (2012-Present)

The Eric Andre Show was created by Eric Andre and stars himself and Hannibal Buress. It could loosely be described as a parody of late night talk shows.

Nathan for You (2013-2017)

Nathan for You was created by Nathan Fielder and Michael Koman and Nathan Fielder stars/hosts the series. In the show Nathan uses his degree from one of Canada’s top business schools to help struggling businesses with mixed results.

The Birthday Boys (2013-2014)

Produced by Bob Odenkirk, Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfield, Mike Rosenstein and Dave Kneebone; The Birthday Boys stars Jefferson Dutton, Dave Ferguson, Mike Hanford, Tim Kalpakis, Matt Kowalick, Mike Mitchell, and Chris VanArtsdalen. It was a wacky, off-kilter sketch comedy show.

On Cinema at the Cinema (2012-Present)

Created by Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington and starring the two of them, On Cinema at the Cinema starts as a poor man’s parody of Siskel and Ebert and just gets crazier and crazier from there.

Community (2009-2015)

Community was created by Dan Harmon and stars Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Ken Jeong, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash, John Oliver, Jonathan Banks, Paget Brewster, and Keith David. It’s about a diverse group of students attending school at a community college that form a study group.

It’s about a group of friends who become involved in the search for a missing young woman and the events that result from their involvement.

Rick and Morty (2013-Present)

Rick and Morty was created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon and stars Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammar and Sarah Chalke. It’s about the misadventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith.
